PT. KBN Prima Logistik was originally a Logistics Services Business Unit of PT. KBN (Persero), the result of the merging of the Warehousing Division and the Forwarding Division. The merger was carried out in 2003. The Second Division is a supporting unit of the main business of PT. KBN (Persero), i.e. property. After being merged into the Logistics Services Business Unit, the status is no longer as a supporting unit but has become a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of Logistics Services.

To fulfill the provisions of the Republic of Indonesia's Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 49 of 2017 concerning Transportation Service Administration and Operation, the SBU Logistics Service was changed into a subsidiary under the name of PT. KBN Prima Logistik, and aims to increase added value and competitiveness and optimize service to customers.

PT. KBN Prima Logistik was established based on Deed of Establishment Number 05 dated August 21, 2019 made by Notary Mastuti Betta, SH and was approved by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, in accordance with Decree Number AHU-0043236.AH.01.01.Tahun 2019, with PT. KBN (Persero) 99% and PT. KBN (Persero) 1%, and began operations in January 2020.
